Where messages go

Messages and relevant conversation history pass through Firebase Functions to OpenRouter and the model provider serving the request. The server tries its preferred free model first; availability can cause it to use another free model or provider. Each service applies its own retention and content-use rules. This feature does not promise zero retention or exclusion from model training.

Chat history is not stored locally. Refreshing clears the conversation.

Analytics

Chat engagement - whether a chat was started, once per session (bl_chat_engaged). Message text, prompts, and responses are never sent to analytics. See the site-wide privacy page for shared page-view and interaction analytics, browser identifiers and your preference.
Firebase Functions logs request, model, timing and error details; upstream error responses can enter diagnostic logs. Rate limiting uses a keyed IP hash and counters. Retention depends on service settings. Clearing this chat does not delete provider or infrastructure records. See the site privacy policy.
Rate limiting state is keyed by a salted hash of your IP address, not the IP itself, stored in Firestore in production, or in memory during local development.
